Where do you live?
I now live in Bellingham, WA! We recently packed our bags and moved away from our entire family in St. Louis. It was the most difficult decision to leave them, but we’ll be growing and raising our family deep in the heart of the Pacific Northwest and we could not be more excited!
Do you travel?
Heck Yes!! I would love nothing more than to travel to photograph you and your loves! I’ve traveled all over for newborn lifestyle photos!
What exactly do you photograph?
I focus on newborn & family lifestyle and fresh 48 photography. Real life is what it’s all about. Read more about what makes newborn lifestyle sessions so unique!
How would you explain your style?
Timeless. No fads, no fancy computerized techniques, just classic photos to be passed on generation after generation. Authentic. I believe your photos should represent your personalities. You should see a photo a remember an entire story from that moment. Photos that are you just being you. Natural. In my opinion, the environment is an important part of your story. Where you've chosen your story to begin with your engagement session or wedding day is an important piece to share in images.
What equipment do you use?
I use fancy professional cameras and lenses: Nikon 750s with a variety of prime Nikon and Sigma Art lenses.Do we get the high-resolution images?
Yes!! All the images you receive are high-resolution and large enough to print great big canvases!
How long until we get our photos?
You will have a personal website gallery of all your images within 4 weeks of your session date.
Do we get the rights to print our own photos?
You do! While I highly recommend printing through a professional lab for the superior quality and color for the image, you are not required to. I absolutely have an opinion on where not to print, though. :)
I love the idea of a documentary photo session with my new family, but I’m way too tired to clean my house! Why don’t you have a studio lifestyle option?
Well, two answers:
1. We typically shoot in the baby’s nursery/kids room, master bedroom and one living space. I’m a mom of tiny kids, so I get messy spaces! Shove all of it in a closet and call it good (or is that just me?!). I’m a real person too and my house is far from perfect. I do truly believe that, even though it’s a bit more stressful to prep the rooms, it’s worth it. Looking back on images that tell your story in the home that your kids grew up in is worth telling.
2. A home-setting is an option for you. If you love the idea of a lifestyle session, but really don’t want it in your home, I have an alternative at no extra cost. Will you make us an album?
Of course! I love to touch and feel photographs and think albums are so important! I order RedTree albums and books and can't recommend them highly enough! I will personally design your album and we will work together to make it perfect for a lifetime of showing it off!
