St Louis Newborn Lifestyle | Welcome Home Ivy

Bringing home a new baby is both exciting and terrifying. The unknown of how this little one will adapt and how their older siblings will grow to love them is something that parents can easily stress over. I walked into the Morris’ home and there was a sense of ease and familiarity. Caleb had the two older siblings reading, playing and giggling while grandma was there, smiling from ear to ear, waiting to jump in and lend a hand. Sweet Ivy was tucked away with her mama creating that special bond only a mom knows. This family stepped into being a family of five like it was what they were born to do. I am so honored to have documented those first few sweets as a fam of five. :)

It’s in these moments that I am especially thankful to do what I love to do. Being welcomed into a new family’s home is not something I take lightly. I know it’s a crazy time and I know people stress about their homes. You’re too tired to clean, to organize and to pretend like you have it all together. I have had so many families tell me they would love an in-home session if they didn’t have such a chaotic home those first few weeks of a new baby. I tell them all the same thing: we just need a window and we can make magic. Please don’t worry about your home. Chances are, my home is messier than yours. Remember the reason for this type of session. It’s to document your life. This very moment in time that defines you; your home, your kids, your hanging photos, your memories made inside those walls. That is what it is all about and that is exactly why a lifestyle session is so special.
